The Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA) has vowed to support President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s initiative to promote the national economy through the engagement of the private sector.

To attain the goal of the economic growth rate from 8 per cent in 2023 to 20 per cent in 2024, TCCIA has said that there should be close partnership between the public and private sectors.

This was the message of support delivered to President Samia by TCCIA Vice-President responsible for business, Boniface Ndengo, explaining the position of the business community and the private sector stakeholders as far as efforts to reinvigorate the country’s economy are concerned.

Ndengo, who also doubles as the TCCIA Mara Regional chairman, told journalists in Musoma yesterday that “We must thank the Honourable President Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan for her efforts in bringing development to the people. We at TCCIA promise to support her to ensure the goals of development are realised.”

“On behalf of the TCCIA president and all businesspeople, we unanimously pledge to continue supporting the president as she strives to make our nation attain economic supremacy,” he said.

He said TCCIA would mobilise businesspeople to launch investment projects which would revitalise the economy as well as urging them to pay taxes.
