Tarime Hyena attack : One confirmed dead, six nursing wounds

One person has died and six others are recuperating at Tarime District Hospital after being attacked by a hyena infected with rabies.

Authorities in Tarime have confirmed the death naming deceased as as Mang’ere Francis

The incident occurred Tuesday morning at Bugosi area on the outskirts of Tarime town in the Lake Zone region of Mara, according to eye witnesses.

Security official’s in Tarime tracked down the hyena as soon as it was reported and have managed to kill the marauding animal.

Earlier, a source at the hospital said that seven people had been admitted, two of them in a serious condition.
