In recent years, Tanzania, East Africas second largest economy, has been winning many awards following the improvement of its tourism and hotel industry which has seen the flow of thousands of tourists from abroad.
Tourists from United States, Europe and China are attracted by improved facilities in national parks across the country, leave alone those crossing the Indian Ocean to the spice islands of Zanzibar to see the archipelagos historical sites and beautiful beaches found there.
The flow of tourists to Tanzania and the countrys winning of international awards is evidence that the government has taken deliberate measures to resuscitate its tourism following the liberisation of the economy in the late 1980s.
Upon coming to power in March 2021, President Samia Suluhu Hassan came up with an innovative idea of launching the Royal Tour Film which pushed the tourism industry to its height, attracting many holidaymakers and investors from abroad.
The Royal Tour Film has fascinated many investors to launch projects in the sub sector to generate the much-needed foreign exchange.
Today tourism has become a dependable source of government revenue as funds obtained are pumped into the sector to improve facilities such as the road infrastructure to national parks.
