Tanzania, Uganda launch joint hydropower project in Mbarara

President Samia Suluhu Hassan and her Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Musevveni yesterday launched Kikagati- Murongo Hydropower project in Mbarara, Uganda which is set to generate 16 megawatts.

“This project will draw water from Kagera River on the Tanzania/Uganda border. So, apart from Uganda, it will also be of benefit to residents of Kyerwa and Karagwe districts,” said President Samia
