Tanzania and Germany, in their quest to consolidate the existing warm relations between the two countries, have agreed to hold talks on development cooperation next year, President Samia Suluhu Hassan said yesterday.

The two governments have thus directed teams of experts from the two countries to continue holding frequent discussions on the strengthening of the current relations and explore new avenues for further cooperation.

President Samia told journalists yesterday in Dar es Salaam after holding talks with her German counterpart, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, that Tanzania recognises Germany’s support in various projects in such key sectors as health, water, agriculture, education, tourism, culture, sports, defence, natural resources, and environmental protection.

During their talks, the two presidents laid emphasis on the contribution of business and investment in accelerating socio-economic development.

The German president arrived on Monday for a three-day visit to Tanzania, accompanied by investors from 12 companies to explore business opportunities in the country.
