Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa yesterday held bilateral talks with the Belarus Ambassador to Tanzania based in Nairobi, Kenya, Pavel Vziatkin, on strengthening the existing relations between the two countries.
The meeting between the two leaders was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Dar es Salaam.
At the meeting, Tanzania promised to continue cooperating with Belarus in the fields of mining, health, tourism, agruculture and trade.
The Dae es Salaam meeting followed an earlier one in which the Belarus ambassador also met in Dodoma with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Cosato Chumi.
Diplomatic relations between the countries were estalished in 1996 during the Third Phase Government of the late President Benjamin Mkapa.
Since then both countries have been exchanging delegations aimed at enhancing their mutual cooperation.
