Tanzania, Australian companies sign mining agreements worth $667 m

Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan yesterday witnessed the signing of three agreements with Australian companies to mine rare earths and graphite in the south east , eastern and northern parts of the country.

Under the deals worth USD 667million with Evolution Energy Minerals, EcoGraf Ltd and Peak Rare Earths, Tanzania will have 16 per cent share in jointly established companies, according Prof Palamagamba Kabudi, Chairman of the government’s negotiating team.
