Samia disbands REA Board, appoints new envoy

President Samia Suluhu Hassan has disbanded the governing Board of the Rural Energy Agency (REA) and appointed Ambassador retired Major General Jacob Gideon Kingu, the new chairman.

Then president has also named Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) Executive Director John Ulanga as an ambassador in promotions announced yesterday.

In a press statement released yesterday, President Samia, in a twist of events, named Maharage Chande the new Postmaster General of the Posts Corporation after he was last week appointed the Director General of the Tanzania Telecommunication Corporation Limited (TTCL).

Chande takes over from Macrice Daniel Mbodo who would be assigned other duties, the State House statement said.

It said Eng. Peter Ulanga would continue as the TTCL Director General, and that newly-appointed Ambassador John Ulanga would be sworn in today Tuesday.
