President Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Dr Immaculate Sware Semesi the Director General of the National Environmental Management Council (NEMC).
Before her appointment, Dr Semesi was the Director of Marine Parks and Reserves Institute.
A State House statement issued yesterday in Zanzibar said the new NEMC boss takes over from Dr Samuel Gwamaka Mafwenga who has completed his term of office.
The appointment was effective yesterday.
