President Samia appoints new Shinyanga Regional Commissioner

President Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Anamringi Macha, the new Shinyanga Regional Commissioner taking over from Christina Mndeme who has also been named the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Vice-President’s Office responsible for Environment.

Macha was the Chama Cha Mapinduzi Deputy Secretary General for the Mainland while Mndeme also previously served as Ruvuma Regional Commissioner and CCM Deputy Secretary General for Mainland before being transferred to head Shinynaga region.

A state House press statement issued early today (March 12) said the president also appointed new District Commissioners, District Administrative secretaries and made transfers of District Executive Directors in a month that has witnessed several changes in leadership positions at district and regional levels.

Political analysts see the changes as a prelude to next year’s general elections since Tanzania adopted political pluralism in 1995.
