President Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Musa Kuji the Commissioner of Conservation of the Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA).

Before his elevation, he was the Acting Commissioner of Conservation after taking over from the former TANAPA boss William Simon Mwakilema who was appointed the Korogwe District Commissioner last year.

TANAPA is the national authority responsible for the management of the country’s 22 parks covering 15 per cent of the land area and has the mandate to manage the wildlife in Tanzania.

President Samia has also appointed former Arusha Regional Administrative Secretary Dr Athuman Kihamia the Chief Executive Officer of the Dar es Salaam Rapid Transit (UDART).

He replaces Dr Edwin Mhede who will be assigned other duties according to a State House statement released today January 11 in Zanzibar.

Dr Mhede previously served as the Commissioner General of the Tanzania Revenue Authority.
