PM lauds Gachuma’s support to government initiatives

The government has praised the unwavering contribution of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi member of its national executive committee, Mzee Christopher Mwita Gachuma, for supporting the country’s development initiatives although he is not a civil servant.

Mzee Gachuma, a renowned industrious personality in the lake zone regions, is a long-serving member of the CCM powerful policy-making organ since 1997 during the late President Benjamin Mkapa chairmanship of the ruling party.

“We’ve worked in the government with the honourable Gachuma not as a civil servant but as a development stakeholder supporting the government. He has been a forefront participant in development in various sectors such as industry and agriculture. We thank him,” Majaliwa said.

The Prime Minister spoke this at Komaswa village in Tarime district Saturday March 30 during the burial of Mzee Gachuma’s wife, Francisca.

“Mama Francisca’s death touches us all in the government because her great contribution had a bearing to Gachuma’s success in every endeavour,” the prime minister said.

Among the Chama Cha Mapinduzi high-ranking officials who travelled to Komaswa village for the burial of Mzee Gachuma’s wife include Secretary-General Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi.

Deputy Prme Minister, Dr Doto Biteko also visited Mzee Gachuma and his family to console them at Komaswa yesterday( Sunday) .
