Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) has refuted reports claiming that wild animals are being exported through some points of the authority and the Pololeti Forest Reserve.
A statement issued by NCAA in Arusha yesterday said the reports circulating on social media claiming that wild animals are being transported out of the country by cargo planes are false.
All investors from United Arab Emirates and the USA are legally conducting their activities; which include photographic tourism and hunting, the statement said.
“Let it be made clear that Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one the world’s heritage under UNESCO. As such, it is constantly being monitored by local and international institutions to ensure all activities abide by regulations and procedures,’’ the statement noted.
Due to their status, these areas have never been a launch pad for wild animals transportation or any such business in defiance of conservation activities of the nation’s resources.
The statement stressed that NCAA continues to fulfill its duties on conservation, tourism and social development.
