Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) acting Commissioner for Conservation, Musa Kuji, yesterday commissioned eight Senior Assistant Commissioners for Conservation, urging them to exercise a high degree of diligence in the performance of their duties.

The ceremony to that effect was held at the TANAPA head office in Arusha and attended by several workers of the government tourism agency.

Kuji, who was recently appointed by President Samia Suluhu Hassan as the TANAPA acting Commissioner for Conservation, told the commissioned officers to adhere to the tenets of good leadership by being exemplary in whatever they will be doing.

“I want you to realise that your position comes with responsibility. You’re required to be conversant with your new duties and the way of implementing them,” he said.

He added: “As leaders in your work places, you should show the way. Go and unite officers and their juniors in the quest of fulfilling the set TANAPA goals.”

Kuji appealed to the entire TANAPA family to strengthen the organisation in attracting more tourists to come to Tanzania to help the country earn the much-needed foreign exchange.
