Two key senior ministers, Nape Nnauye and January Makamba, have lost their cabinet posts following a cabinet reshuffle announced yesterday in Zanzibar by the State House.

Former Minister of Information, Communications and Technology Nape Nnauye has been replaced by Minister of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development Jerry Silaa.

Silaa’s position has been taken over by Deogratias Ndejembi, a Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for Labour, Youth and the Disabled.

Ridhiwani Kikwete, a deputy minister in the President’s Office responsible for public management and good governance, has been elevated to take over Ndejembi’s docket at the Prime Minister’s Office.

The State House statement said President Samia Suluhu Hassan has named Mahmoud Kombo, the new foreign minister who will be joined by two new deputies Costa Chumi and Dennis Londo.

Former foreign ministry deputy minister Stephen Byabato also lost his position in the reshuffle.

The president named Deus Clement Sanga the new deputy minister responsible for public management and good governance in the President’s Office.

President Samia is a no-nonsense leader who once said she would speak less but use her pen wisely to put her house in order.
