GGML dishes out 150m/- for international mining tech exhibition in Geita

Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML) has disbursed 150m/- to sponsor the 6th International Mining Technologies exhibition scheduled to run from 20th -30th September, 2023 in Geita Region .

President Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected to officially close the on-going show.

Speaking on the importance of this annual exhibition, which is a joint venture between Geita Regional Commissioner’s office and TANTRADE, a senior manager in charge of community relations matters at GGML, Gilbert Mworia said it has helped improve relations among local and foreign mining companies, noting that the public continues to learn more and more about modern technologies used in mining.

“Apart from the show, we’ve invested 800m/- for construction of the EPZA administration block. We have continued to sponsor various preparation activities at the show ground, things like tents for pavilions, a standby generator and fuel,’’ said Mworia.

This year’s theme has been dubbed ‘’Using the right technology to improve the economic wellbeing of artisanal miners and the environment.’’

Other mining companies sponsoring the show according to a poster issued by Geita Regional Commissioner’s office include Barrick Bulyanhulu, BGC and CMS.

The show will be officially opened by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy Dr Dotto Biteko on Saturday this week.
