Financial tycoon Yusuf Manji dies in the US

A financial tycoon, who once tried his luck in the world of politics and sports in Tanzania in the early 2000s, Yusuf Manji, is dead.

He died on Saturday midnight at a Florida hospital in the United States where he was undergoing treatment, according to his son, Mehbub Manji.

In the political arena Manji was a councillor in one of Dar es Salaam’s densely populated Mbagala area wards as well аs a main sponsor and chairman of the current Tanzania’s club champions, Young Africans Sports Club, in short Yanga.

As a reputed businessman, Manji was the director of Quality Group Limited, a company which was dealing with motor vehicles, construction, agricultural equipment, tourism, health services and estates.

He was also a renowned philanthropist helping vulnerable groups in the society to lead decent lives.

He left politics in 2017 to concentrate his energies in his chosen business career.
