The hectic border town of Sirari in Mara region has finally got a CRDB Bank branch to serve its growing population.

The bank opened its doors to Sirari residents and its neighbourhood on Monday December 23, 20924, as year 2024 comes to a close.

Witnesses to the branch’s inauguration included chief guest Tarime District Commissioner, Major Edward Gowele, party and government leaders, CRDB Bank staff and citizens of the area.

Launching the branch, Major Gowele challenged Sirari residents and those from neighbouring villages to use the bank’s services for their own benefits – such as accessing loans for starting business projects.

He said one of the benefits of the presence of the bank in Sirari is that residents in the area are assured of security of their money if they will fully use the bank’s services.

The launch of the CRDB Bank branch in Sirari brings the total number of branches in Mara region to ten with Tarime district having a large share.

“You should educate the people to use your services such as the importance of saving their money, accessing loans for self-development and loan recovery to enable other people also enjoy the bank’s services,” Major Gowele told CRDB authorities.

He added: “ I also appeal to you to initiate soft loan conditions such as low interest rates to enable more people benefit from your services unlike the harsh loan conditions demanded by other financial institutions operating in our streets.”

On his part, CRDB Bank Chief Business Officer, Boma Ruballa, urged Mara region businesspeople to seriously take the bank’s investment opportunities to purchase the ‘Samia Infrastructure Bond’ and enjoy its profitability.

CRDB Bank used the occasion to handover 50 desks to District Commissioner Gowele in support of government initiatives to improve the learning environment in schools in Tarime district.
