AICC suspends six officials pending investigations into their conduct

Three directors of the state-run Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) have been suspended pending investigations on the contravention of regulations in running public corporations.

The suspension to pave the way for inquiry into the behaviour of how public corporations are managed, according to a statement issued by the AICC communication unit, also involves three senior AICC officials.

Those suspended officials effective from April 3, this year, are the Director of Finance and Marketing, Savo Mung’ong’o, the Director of Estates and Projects, Victor Kamagenge and the Director Conferences and Marketing, Mkunde Mushi.

The three suspended senior officials are the Head of Human Resources and Administration, Festo Mramba, Chief Accountant Augustine Karadoga and the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre Manager Catherine Kilinda.

AICC is a leading conference venue in Tanzania owned by the government under the purview of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As a visitor-attraction centre, AICC is also involved in tourism business as it is located at the heart of the northern Tanzania tourist circuit.
